Cornelia Parker is one of the world’s foremost conceptual artists. Her large installations are at once visually stunning and cerebral, with themes of destruction and the fragility of existence omnipresent.

Her most famous piece ‘Cold Dark Matter’ was a garden shed, stuffed with sentimental objects. Parker persuaded the British Army to explode the shed, the bits were then taken to the Tate and reconstructed mid-explosion and lit by a single light bulb. The piece speaks of how even the most mundane lives can be changed in a fraction of a second.
