Ed Ruscha defies easy categorisation; he was involved in the pop art movement, he’s definitely a conceptual artist, quite possibly a surrealist… but most people in the know can agree on one thing… he is quite possibly the coolest artist of all time.

Part of the ‘LA Cool School’ of art his works often have words emblazoned across seemingly unconnected backgrounds.

This is the only edition of his ‘Drum Skins’ series, odd slang phrases from his formative days growing up in Oklahoma painted onto drum skins.
