Another fabulous plate from the transvestite potter.  This Grayson Perry plate is based on his Lion Queen Charger (2022), a glazed ceramic plate which was on display at the 'Grayson's Art Club' exhibit in the Midlands Art Centre.

Grayson Perry has made a number of plates, indeed they were his earliest foray into the ceramics he is so well known for.   When asked about Lion Queen Charger Grayson explained. "I have depicted the Queen on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee as a lion of old England using the technique of slip trailing, basically icing with liquid clay. I rubbed ink into the craquelure to make it look old."
