Nan Goldin

"I used to think that I could never lose anyone if I photographed them enough. In fact, my pictures show me how much I've lost." Nan Goldin

Raw, intimate, friends, lovers… American photographer Nan Goldin is an iconoclast, a visionary and a true pioneer blurring the lines between documentary and fine art.

Goldin’s work explores themes of love, sexuality, addiction and identity capturing the raw intensity of the human experience with emotional honesty.

Nan risked everything in her art career, taking on the powerful Sackler family who had invested heavily in the art world.  She is a true punk spirit.

At the end of 2023 Nan Goldin was named the number one most influential person in art.

"Nan Goldin is one of the most important photographers of her generation, perhaps the most influential of the last three decades." - The New York Times
