Abstract painter Danny Davidson hails from Blackburn. His work explores the atmosphere and energy of a moment within a shifting sense of time. Working through processes such as staining, charring, scoring and expressive brushwork. Davidson considers himself fundamentally a process painter, allowing the work to unfold through acts of layering, disruption and response.
His brushwork moves between considered, colour-saturated passages and more instinctive, expressive gestures. The work engages with the concept of intra-action, understanding agency not as an inherent individual property but as a dynamism of forces in which all designated things continually exchange and diffract.
